INFORM'S THREE PILLARS OF TOTAL WELL-BEING
Our Founder
During the last decade, Adam Zickerman has transformed his personal quest for fitness from a hobby into a thriving enterprise. Founder of InForm Fitness Studios and NYT best-selling author of The Power of 10, he studied the works of Arthur Jones, the father of high-intensity training (HIT), and trained with such HIT masters as Drew Israel, Dr. Ken Leistner, Robert Francis and SuperSlow founder Ken Hutchins.
Zickerman created his own slow-cadence weight-training program, called the "Power of 10": Clients achieve muscle failure by lifting weights on a slow 10-count, lowering weights on a 10-count, and continuing to push for 10 seconds after they can no longer move the weights. He also recognized the importance of nutrition, along with rest and recovery. These three pillars—exercise, nutrition and rest—elevated The Power of 10 from a workout to a foundation for healthy living.
He opened InForm Fitness Studios in Long Island in 1997. Two years later, Zickerman brought his effective—and efficient—workout to time-pressed Manhattanites. He wrote The Power of 10, published in 2003 by HarperCollins, and introduced his revolutionary fitness regime to the general public. With its groundbreaking technique and Zickerman's humorous writing style, The Power of 10 sold more than 100,000 copies, transforming the lives—and physiques—of thousands of clients and tens of thousands of readers.
Today, Zickerman is expanding InForm Fitness and The Power of 10 brand with additional studios, instructional DVDs and franchising opportunities. He is writing his second book, a hands-on guide to healthy, yet satisfying nutrition.
